The waters
of the Bahamas contain one of the last marine environments on
earth with healthy enough populations of conch, Nassau grouper
and the Caribbean spiny lobster to replenish and recover fishery
stocks for the region.
The film, Hanging In The Balance presents the remarkable
story of the fisherman's, scientists, government officials and
conservationists efforts to preserve the Bahamas unique ecosystem
and the fisherman's way of life.
Hanging In The Balance is scheduled for distribution
to the middle and high school students throughout the Bahamas
and broadcast nationally throughout the Bahamas.
Hanging In The Balance is the first in a series of films
documenting marine protected areas around the world and their
impacts on local communities.
